Denver, CO – February 14, 2025 – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) has announced Sacha Francois Heppell, Executive Director of Denver Sister Cities International, as one of 40 rising leaders selected for the 2025 Next Generation (Next Gen) Global Leaders Network.

The year-long program brings together a diverse and bipartisan group of young professionals dedicated to advancing U.S. global leadership. Participants will receive leadership training, advocacy tools, and mentorship while engaging with policymakers on key issues in global development and diplomacy.

“We are incredibly proud of Sacha’s selection for this prestigious program,” said Riccardo Mazzeo, Board Chair of Denver Sister Cities International. “His leadership at Denver Sister Cities International has strengthened diplomatic ties between Denver and its ten sister cities worldwide. This opportunity further amplifies our mission of fostering international understanding and citizen diplomacy.”

The 2025 Next Gen Global Leaders cohort includes professionals from across the country who will participate in policy discussions, engage with influential leaders, and contribute their voices to global conversations. At the end of the program, participants will join USGLC’s State Advisory Committees, continuing their advocacy for international engagement.

“Investing in the next generation of global advocates is critical,” said Liz Schrayer, USGLC President and CEO. “These leaders see beyond borders and focus on solutions—whether it’s economic development, climate change, or global health. Their commitment to diplomacy and development will shape America’s role in the world for years to come.”

As Executive Director of Denver Sister Cities International, Heppell plays a key role in advancing local and international cooperation between Denver and its sister cities worldwide.
